Accommodations are perfect for new experiences. A cruise is a great opportunity to try new food and treat us to new activities. We can try different food outside our normal food on a cruise that we "have already paid for it". Visiting a spa at sea is like other things you do on vacation - something outside your normal daily routine. Although spa services cost extra, many cruise ships have spas that rival those you find at home. In fact, some of the spas at sea are world class. Many of us may not have time to visit a spa in our home town. It is easy to come up with an excuse. We are too busy or too broke or are just not sure what type of spa or the type of treatment we would get. Cruise ship spas are used to "spa beginners" who have not visited a spa before. Therefore, staff expects a lot of questions about the services and treatments. Onboard spas tend to have a tour where they show up and explain the treatment plants. This tour can be an interesting learning experience and can help you decide what you would like to try. Spa facilities and treatments often sounds exotic and sometimes therapeutic. Most of us are familiar with massage, facials and sauna. But when you start to hear about ionathermie detoxification or thalassotherapy, do you realize how advanced the spa has become! Although the spa conditions may sound mysterious or even a bit frightening, is the mission of a spa to help clients to relax and remove stress. We all love to be pampered, and it is probably a spa treatment or therapy for all. |
